Products & Feeding

How much should my dog eat each day?

The amount depends on body weight and variety. The complete table—showing the amount per kilogram, in grams, and in measuring spoons—is printed on each can and available as a PDF on the product page.

Daily examples: A 10-kg dog receives about 10 g of CLASSIC and about 15 g of SENSITIVE, SENIOR, or BOOST; a 30-kg dog receives about 23 g of CLASSIC and about 34 g of the other varieties.

If you have multiple dogs or are unsure, we'd be happy to calculate the portion size for you personally—just let us know their weight and breed.

Level or heaped—and is the measuring spoon marked?

Always level off. The quantities listed on the can and in the feeding schedule refer to leveled-off spoonfuls. Level off the spoon against the rim of the can, and the amount will be correct.

My dog is picky and won't eat the powder. What can I do?

This happens—and most of the time, it can be resolved. Here's what works best for our customers:

  • Mix it into their usual food instead of feeding it to them on its own
  • Moisten it with a little warm water or wet food —that will get rid of the smell
  • Mix in a small amount of your favorite food and gradually increase the amount

And if your dog just doesn't like it: That's what the 90-day satisfaction guarantee is for. You have nothing to lose by giving it an honest try.

What's in it—and which variety is right for my dog?

The foundation is our open-grain flaxseed and herb blend made from over twenty plants. The recipes are grain-free and contain no wheat starch or garlic. You can find the complete list of ingredients and mushrooms for each variety on the respective product page.

The product finder is the quickest way to find out which variety is best for digestion, skin, senior dogs, or vitality. Prefer a personal consultation? Tell us your dog’s age, any health issues, and what they’re currently eating—we’ll recommend the right variety for you.

Efficacy & Tolerability

When will I see a change?

This varies from dog to dog. Many owners report seeing the first visible changes after about two to four weeks of regular feeding—changes in the coat and skin often don’t become apparent until eight to twelve weeks, which coincides with the natural shedding cycle.

Important: tradidog is a dietary supplement, not a medication. It works as part of your dog’s daily routine, not overnight. Give your dog some time—and let us know if you have any questions.

Can I give it in addition to medication or other food?

tradidog is a dietary supplement and is simply added to your pet's regular meal—it usually mixes well with their existing food.

If your dog is taking medication or is under veterinary care, please briefly discuss this supplement with your veterinarian. If you’re already giving your dog an oil (e.g., for omega-3), make sure you’re not giving too much overall—if you’re unsure, we’ll help you coordinate the doses.

Is it suitable for puppies, senior dogs, or pregnant dogs?

Yes. For adult dogs of all ages—many of our most loyal customers feed their senior dogs well past the age of twelve. Puppies can start eating it at eight weeks of age, after weaning; the amount should be adjusted according to their weight.

For pregnant or nursing dogs, we recommend consulting with us or your veterinarian beforehand to ensure the dosage is appropriate for the dog’s life stage.

Is Tradidog grain-free? What if my dog has allergies?

Yes, our toppings are grain-free and contain no wheat starch. The recipes are intentionally kept simple and are designed for dogs with sensitive stomachs.

You can find the complete list of ingredients for each variety on the product page under “Ingredients.” If your dog has any known food sensitivities, please let us know before placing your order—we’ll give you an honest assessment of which varieties are suitable and which aren’t.

Ordering, Payment & Shipping

What payment methods can I use?

You can pay conveniently with TWINT, PostFinance, or a credit card. If TWINT isn't available as an option during the checkout process, it's usually due to your browser or an incomplete order—please refresh the page or send us a quick message, and we'll help you right away.

How much does shipping cost, and how long does delivery take?

We offer free shipping within Switzerland and to Liechtenstein for orders of CHF 60 or more; for orders under that amount, a flat shipping fee of CHF 9 applies. Delivery usually takes two to three business days from the date of order.

Once your order has been shipped, you'll receive an email with tracking information. If the package hasn't moved within five to seven business days, we'll file a claim with the postal service—just contact us with your order number.

Are there any samples I can try out?

Yes—that's what our sample packs are for. The powder is free; you only pay for shipping. That way, you can find out if your dog will even eat that flavor before you buy a whole bag.

There isn't a separate sample pack for Freshies; if you're unsure, our 90-day satisfaction guarantee is here to help.

Savings Plan

How does the savings plan work—and is it mandatory?

The subscription plan is completely optional. You can also purchase everything as a one-time order. If you choose the subscription plan, your pet food will be delivered automatically at the frequency you choose—so there’s never a gap—and you’ll save on each delivery.

You set the frequency and amount yourself and remain flexible at all times. No minimum term, no fine print.

How do I change the interval or quantity?

Through your customer account, located in the top right corner of the website. You log in using a code that we’ll send to your email address—there, you can adjust the frequency and quantity yourself, for example, from two to four or six weeks.

Stuck? Just send us a message with the changes you'd like and your dog's weight—we'll take care of it for you.

Can I pause or cancel my subscription?

Anytime. You can pause, postpone, or cancel your savings plan—at any time and for any reason. Vacation, a full stock, or just a break: no problem at all.

The easiest way to do this is through your customer account; alternatively, we can take care of it for you if you send us a quick message.

Can I change the delivery to pickup?

Yes. If you live nearby, you can also pick up your package at Santural GmbH, Hämmerli 2D, 8855 Wangen. We’re open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; we’re closed on weekends.

Just let us know, and we'll arrange for pickup. And if shipping charges do show up on a subscription order when they shouldn't have, just let us know—we'll fix it.

Warranty & Returns

How does the 90-day satisfaction guarantee work?

It's simple: If your dog doesn't like the food after giving it a fair try, or if you don't see any improvement, just contact us within 90 days of receipt—and we'll refund the purchase price. Even opened packages count.

The warranty applies to toppings and Freshies. Accessories, snacks, and components are covered by a 14-day return policy. This way, you can take your time to see if they’re a good fit for your dog—we’ll cover the risk.

Why do I have to buy a sample pack first?

Because we want to take on the risk when it comes to effectiveness, not taste. The trial pack costs very little and will tell you within a week whether your dog will go for it. After that, you’ll pay for a full package knowing it will end up in your dog’s bowl—and we’ll take responsibility for what happens next.

All About Toppings

What exactly is a topping?

A dietary supplement. It’s not a replacement for your dog’s main food, but rather a powder that you sprinkle on top. It provides nutrients that are often lacking in regular dry food—without requiring you to switch foods.

How do I measure out the correct dose?

The amount depends on body weight and variety. Each can includes a complete chart—listed individually for each kilogram, in grams, and in measuring spoons. You can find the same feeding guide as a PDF on the product page under the dosage calculator.

Daily examples: A 10-kg dog receives about 10 g of CLASSIC and about 15 g of SENSITIVE, SENIOR, or BOOST; a 30-kg dog receives about 23 g of CLASSIC and about 34 g of the other varieties.

Not sure? Tell us the weight and variety, and we'll calculate the serving size for you.

How long does one package last?

For a 20-kg dog, one package lasts about four to five weeks. For smaller dogs, it lasts correspondingly longer.

What kind of food can I sprinkle this topping on?

Dry food, wet food, BARF—it works with all of them. If using dry food, add a little water or broth so the powder sticks.

Do I need to change my dog's main food?

No. The topping is meant to supplement your current food; it does not replace it.

Does it contain grains, sugar, or any artificial additives?

No. No grains, no sugar, no synthetic preservatives, and no artificial flavors. The current recipe also no longer contains wheat starch.

The complete list of ingredients is provided for each product.

Can I add multiple toppings at the same time?

Generally speaking, yes. The total amount is still based on your dog’s weight—you simply split it evenly between the two varieties. For example, a 10-kg dog would get 5 g of one variety and 5 g of the other, instead of 10 g of just one.

In most cases, however, the one variety that fits the current theme is sufficient. Switching varieties is no problem at any time.

How do I keep the topping fresh?

Store in a dry, dark place and keep the package sealed. An unopened package will stay fresh for about eight to twelve weeks. An opened bag loses quality over time—if you feed your pet regularly, you’re better off using our storage container.

Is the topping a complete food?

No. It's a supplemental food and doesn't replace the main meal.

At what age can I start giving my child this topping?

Starting at eight weeks, that is, after weaning from breast milk. The amount depends on the baby's weight.

If your dog is pregnant or nursing, please consult your veterinarian briefly beforehand.

CLASSIC

When is CLASSIC the right choice—rather than SENIOR, BOOST, or SENSITIVE?

CLASSIC is the everyday supplement for healthy adult dogs with no specific health concerns. If your dog is getting older, SENIOR is the right choice. If your dog runs a lot or needs to build muscle, BOOST is the right choice. For dogs with sensitive digestion, choose SENSITIVE.

My dog already eats high-quality dry food—does he need CLASSIC?

A good dry food meets basic nutritional needs. CLASSIC supplements nutrients that are often lacking even in premium foods, such as certain fatty acids for the coat and skin.

To be honest, the difference becomes apparent over the course of several weeks, not right away.

SENIOR

At what age is my dog considered a senior?

Small breeds starting around age 10, medium breeds around age 8, and large breeds around age 6. Typical signs: He gets up more slowly, has less stamina on walks, and his coat loses its luster.

My dog has joint problems—is SENIOR the right choice?

SENIOR is designed for feeding older dogs. It deliberately contains no glucosamine or green-lipped mussel—instead, we rely on our herbal blend (which includes turmeric, among other ingredients) and antioxidants. This is a deliberate choice, not an oversight.

If your pet has been diagnosed with osteoarthritis or is experiencing significant symptoms, your veterinarian is still the best person to consult—a dietary supplement is not a substitute for treatment. The full list of ingredients is provided on the product page.

My dog is already on medication from the vet—can I still give him SENIOR?

In most cases, yes. Just check with the office beforehand to make sure there aren't any scheduling conflicts.

BOOST

For which dogs is BOOST a good choice?

For dogs with increased nutritional needs: if your dog is underweight and needs to build muscle, or if he is recovering from an illness or surgery.

For dogs with a normal level of daily activity, CLASSIC is the right choice—they don't need BOOST.

My dog is normally active—does he need BOOST?

No. CLASSIC is designed for everyday use—even for active, athletic dogs that get plenty of exercise.

BOOST is specifically designed for those who are underweight, for building muscle, and for recovery after surgery or illness. Use it only if one of these situations applies to you.

After surgery or a course of antibiotics—when can I start giving BOOST?

As soon as your dog is eating normally again and there are no veterinary concerns. This is usually a few days after treatment ends.

Will BOOST make my dog gain weight?

No, as long as the total amount of food is correct. BOOST supplements nutrients; it is not a significant additional source of calories.

SENSITIVE

For which symptoms is SENSITIVE appropriate?

Loose stools, frequent gas, and a stomach that reacts to every change in diet. SENSITIVE is designed for dogs with sensitive digestion that is not caused by an underlying medical condition.

If a diagnosis is involved, it should be handled by a veterinarian.

My dog has been diagnosed with a food allergy—is SENSITIVE a good choice?

That depends on the trigger. The complete list of ingredients is on the package and on the product page. Before ordering, check it against the foods your dog can't tolerate—if in doubt, consult your veterinarian.

Can I feed SENSITIVE in addition to a gentle diet?

Yes. During an acute phase, start by feeding only the gentle diet, and then gradually introduce SENSITIVE.

How long should I use SENSITIVE before I evaluate it?

At least four to six weeks, and you have to stick to it. It takes time for your digestion to settle into a routine.

FRESHIES

When do Freshies take effect—immediately or only after a few days?

The refreshing effect kicks in quickly. For long-lasting fresher breath, give the Freshies regularly over a period of two to three weeks.

If my pet has bad breath—is that enough, or do I need to take it to the vet?

If the problem is caused by tartar, gum inflammation, or tooth damage, a snack won't help. If the strong odor persists, take your dog to the vet.

Freshies are designed to help keep your dog's mouth healthy.

How many Freshies a day?

As a general guideline, give one Freshie per 5 kg of body weight per day—so a 20-kg dog would get about four. It’s not possible to overdose.

One package contains about 30 pieces.

What's in the Freshies?

Grain-free, with natural ingredients: coconut flakes, egg white, potato starch, minerals, and a mushroom extract. The mushroom extract is the ingredient that helps freshen breath.

The complete list of ingredients is on the package.

Is the 4-pack worth it?

If your dog likes the Freshies, then yes. It's cheaper per bag and will last about two months for a 20-kg dog.

How do I store the storage bags?

Store in a cool, dry place. Unopened, a bag will keep for several months; once opened, it's best to use it within six to eight weeks.

DOG-ICE

At what outdoor temperature does DOG-ICE become useful?

Starting at about 25 °C. Or, generally speaking, on days when your dog is panting, seeking shade, and eating less.

How do I prepare DOG-ICE?

One full package contains 60 g of powder and makes two ice cream molds: Mix 60 g with 200 ml of water. For one ice cream mold, use half a package—30 g with 100 ml.

For a creamier version, stir in plain yogurt instead of water. Then place it in the freezer for four to five hours, depending on the container.

Can I freeze portions to have on hand?

Yes. They'll keep just fine in the freezer for several weeks.

Is DOG-ICE also suitable for puppies and older dogs?

Yes. Smaller portions for puppies; normal portions for older dogs.

How many times a day can my dog have DOG-ICE?

One to two servings a day are fine. It's a snack, not a meal replacement.

Coffee Wood Chew Stick

Does the chewable tablet contain caffeine?

No. Coffee wood is the wood of the coffee plant, not the bean. It contains no caffeine and is safe for dogs.

Does the chew stick splinter?

Significantly smaller than a traditional chew bone. The wood is very hard and fibrous—your dog can chew on it without breaking off large pieces.

What size is right for my dog?

S up to 8 kg, M up to 12 kg, L up to 16 kg, XL up to 30 kg, XXL 30 kg and up. If in doubt, go one size larger.

How long does a chew stick last?

Depending on how vigorously you chew, it can last anywhere from a few days to several weeks. Heavy chewers get through it faster than those who take their time.

At what age can my puppy start chewing on it?

Once the baby teeth have all fallen out—that is, starting around six months of age. Before then, it would put too much strain on the teeth, which are still soft.

Storage container

Will an entire package of toppings fit in the can?

Yes. Each of our standard topping packs fits inside perfectly.

How do I clean the can?

Warm water, mild dish soap, dry thoroughly. It is not dishwasher-safe.

Is the can BPA-free?

Yes.

Can I also use the can for dry food?

For smaller amounts, yes. It's too small for an entire bag of dry food.

Folding Bowl

How much water does the collapsible bowl hold?

About 400 ml — enough for a water break, even for larger dogs.

Is the bowl dishwasher-safe?

Yes. The silicone is heat-resistant.

How do I secure it while on the go?

With the carabiner on the handle—attach it to a backpack, leash, or belt. It weighs almost nothing.

What material is the bowl made of?

Made of food-safe, BPA-free silicone.

Measuring spoon

How much does a spoon hold?

One level measuring spoon holds 10 g. It is the basic unit of measurement for all toppings—the table on each container lists not only the weight in grams but also how many level spoons that corresponds to.

Which products is the spoon suitable for?

For all of our toppings: CLASSIC, SENIOR, BOOST, and SENSITIVE.

How do I clean the spoon?

Rinse briefly with water. For a thorough cleaning, it can also be placed in the dishwasher.

Cotton Bag

At what temperature can I wash the bag?

Wash at 30 °C on the gentle cycle. Do not tumble dry.

What can all of this fit inside?

Treats, a foldable bowl, a roll of poop bags, and odds and ends. After the walk, it’s time to do some shopping.

How big is the bag?

The bag measures about 36.5 cm wide and 41 cm tall.

Sample Packs

Is the sample pack really free?

Yes. The powder is free; you only pay the shipping fee of CHF 2.50.

How often can I order a sample package?

One sample package per variety and household. If you'd like to try all four varieties, you can order one of each.

Is 35 g enough to see if my dog likes the topping?

Yes. 35 grams is about one meal and answers the one question no one can answer beforehand: Will he even eat it?

It's impossible to tell from this amount whether there are any changes in the coat or digestion—that would take weeks.

What happens after the sample package?

Nothing. No automatic subscription, no automatic reorders without your input. If you want to continue, you place the next order yourself.

Starter Kits

What's included in the set?

A package of your favorite flavor of topping, a storage container, and a measuring spoon. Everything you need to get started.

How much will I save compared to buying each item separately?

About 11 to 12 francs, depending on the variety. For CLASSIC, the set costs CHF 46.50 instead of CHF 57.80; for the other varieties, it costs CHF 49.50 instead of CHF 61.80.

How long will this set last?

Depending on your dog's weight, the topping will last four to six weeks. You get to keep the can and the spoon.

Can I reorder individual items later?

Yeah, anytime. Next time, just bring the topping—you already have the can and spoon.
